Say Yup
Currently NOT available until January 2026
Say Yup is a Dutch Javascript developer for hire and my name is Joey van Dijk.
Say Yup is about being pragmatic and looking beyond so-called 'borders'. Every webdevelopment project has to be finished on time with all the features in scope. But due to politics, pressure, lack of understanding, or other reasons, this objective is always hard to fulfill completely.
With more than 24 years of experience in sometimes challenging (agile) environments, Say Yup is capable of helping finish your webdevelopment projects on time and within budget.
My main focus nowadays is serverless technologies in combination with JAMstack (for example Remix, Next.js, GatsbyJS) applications and what it means to build and maintain a design system (accessibility (a11y), right-to-left, backwards compatibility, E2E testing (playwright), etc.).
I have worked for or in projects with, for example Joolz, Makerlab, Makerstreet, MediaMonks, Omron, Philips, Polestar, Productschap Tuinbouw, RTL, Samsung, Sanoma, Schiphol, Scotch & Soda, Simyo, Tribal DDB Amsterdam, Vakantieveilingen, and Zilveren Kruis. But you can find more information about what I did on my Linkedin profile or in my CV.
As a developer, I work with Javascript on the frontend (React/custom code) and on the backend (Node.js). I know my way around in CSS, HTML, Bash, Git, responsive sites / images, vite, (P)NPM, Amazon Web Services (AWS), IaC (based on AWS CloudFormation), building performant static websites, and custom full-stack solutions from API to data pipelines in AWS. I have been a Macromedia Flash developer for many years 👋.
I work on Apple macOS and currently using VS Code / Cursor, iTerm 2, Google Chrome (DevTools) / Safari / Firefox, GitHub (Actions), Notion, Pixelmator, Figma, and for more tools-experience, please check my Linkedin profile.
As a news junkie, I am able to follow what is happening in the market and where it is headed. RSS feeds, newsletters, X and open source are my sources.
Check Linkedin for reviews from former colleagues.
Say Yup can only be hired as a freelance Javascript developer in your project or as a consultant for your webdevelopment challenges. I am bound to the Amsterdam area or 1 hour by public transport from my hometown, but I am also capable of working remotely.
